Why Do You Support This Change?
Why not? It is so simple and you can make a big impact.

Everyone can support Recyclying, Reusing and Reducing Waste. Instead of plastic bags bring your own to the store, the mall, anywhere. There are so many inexpensive cloth bags a person can purchase now, especially cute organic ones. You an look hip and help the environment.
We try to purchase products that are only in recyclable packaging or better yet, products that are in packaging that is made from recycled materials. We have improved our waste at home so that we are now only have to take our trash out every two or three weeks.

It doesn't make sense for us to be a consumption only society. We need to be careful about how we use our resources and it is in all our interest to reuse. Everyone needs reusable bags for groceries and other store bought items. We could just ban plastic bags entirely! Why do we need them?
I hate the idea of living in a throw-away society.

Every person, family, business and entity would likely be ten times richer if we weren't throwing all of our money and resources into the landfills and paying people to cover it up with dirt and babysit it. We wouldn't be so sick from drinking polluted water because of seepage. We wouldn't be supporting a whole medical staff and all of their habits and children at every Dr.'s office. There would be more of everything for everyone and jobs for people who can repair our stuff. "Repair" should be the fourth "r." Repair, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Don't forget "resell."
My goal every day

Each day I know I can contribute by doing little things:
- print less -- read pdf online instead
- or print on both size/ use the FriPrint at our school which provides free print services on recycled paper
- reuse shopping bags or don't use them at all (actually I usually go shopping with my backpack)
- use less energy: reduce the consumption by taking care not to leave lights on in rooms I don't use, not to leave the computer on at all times etc.
- I recycle all the spam newspapers and adds I get
- I recycle all bottles (plastic or glass)
... my motto is: start small, make a little difference -- if we each make a little step towards a common goal, we together can make a big difference.

every little thing I can do to make the earth a safer and healthier place to live, I do it. If I have the power to change something, I DO IT.

I don't think that people should even have a choice whether or not to recycle. It should be a law that everyone has to. All cities should have pick-up systems so people can leave their paper and plastic recyclables at the end of their drive-way and a truck comes to pick it up.

Dumping items of "trash" on to our fragile planet does not seem logical.
Not reusing resources that are finite does not seem ethical.
For these reasons, I fully support this change.

If there wasn't recycling... well, a lot more stuff would be wasted!

My dear old granny used to say "waste not, want not". It is just as, if not more, relevant in this day and age.
