Mission
The Buzzing for Change Foundation sponsors Buzzing for Change (B4C) programs at Colleges and Universities around the country. A B4C Program has the following characteristics:
1. It is a one day event with the focus being on participants shaving their heads and/or cutting their hair for Locks of Love, an organization that makes wigs for children who lose their hair due to disease. Those who want to participate, but are not comfortable parting with their hair, are encouraged to volunteer, donate or find a way to participate at their comfort level. We shave our heads in solidarity with those who lose their hair due to chemotherapy.
2. Participants are encouraged to recruit sponsorship for a local charity (selected by the local chapter) that works to improve the lives of children living with cancer.
3. It is sponsored by a student organization or department on campus with university-only board members.
We are currently on 5 campuses and hope to grow to 3 more in the 09-10 academic year. Click here for more information about The Buzzing for Change Foundation.
