BUNDLES OF JOY

Donate your old clothes.

Donate your stuff!

I pledge to donate my old clothes to someone who can use them - a homeless shelter, a thrift store, friends who need them, or a non-profit organization.

Bundles of Joy collects used clothing, shoes, toys, books and school supplies.  Donated items are shipped to the Philippines via freight forwarders and are distributed to needy families in various regions of the country.

  1. This is an ongoing pledge that should be fulfilled as often as possible.

There is a church that picks up bags of clothes and other household items I believe once a month. You can call any church or the salvation army, red cross, any non profit agency will always be happy to have spare clothes on hand.

I, too, have always donated. Also, had times when I went to Goodwill to buy.. especially first babies clothes...we were poor.

Just going to do another 'seasonal' collection so good reminder.

I have always given away my old clothes to those in need. This is an act I have been doing all my life. Old clothes, doesn't mean only the pledge signers old clothes. Old clothes of your children, spouse all can and should be given away to those less fortunate to buy them from shops. Remember, what you might have thrown in your attic or basement as junk clothes might be a gift to those who do not have any. I strongly suggest that you thoroughly go through your wardrobe, closets etc..where old clothes are generally dumped and give them away to the needy.

    ps--Ani~~what a WONDERFUL idea!

I hope we can start something like that here--there are SO many groups that come around and  pick up old clothing for  charities [etc], as well as Church calls for donations of furniture,etc...the 'free box' sounds SO much less complicated & inter-denominational.

    Bravo! xo

Considering I buy all my clothes from second-hand 'charity' shops, I tend to see this as a recycling project. I'm proud to say both my daughters do the same--however, I guess that's not so good for the clothing industry--except for undies lol

    [Ongoingly fulfilled xo]

    Namaste!

In Taos at our recycling center we have what we call "The Free Box".
It began as a box where people exchanged clothes but grew so much that it now has it's own building and a small fenced in yard.
It has become very popular and we take a lot more than just clothing. ... TVs, electronics, kitchen stuff, toys, small furniture, bed clothes, knick knacks, you name it ... anything we cannot or do not use anymore that still has usefulness left in it.
People in need can take whatever they can use.
When it gets too full, things are take down to Santa Fe and/or Albuquerque (not sure which) to places like Salvation Army etc.

I highly recommend this idea to all cities, towns etc.
It is a good place for us locals to get together and gab also.
I have met many wonderful people there.
