Animal Place

Mission

** Animal Place is moving from our 60-acre sanctuary to a gorgeous, 600-acre sanctuary! We're very excited about this move. Want to help? Visit http://animalplace.org **

Animal Place is a 60-acre sanctuary for farmed animals located in northern California. There are over 300 animals at the shelter, including cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys and rabbits. We also serve as a temporary "foster" home for dogs from Mexico and local Californian shelters.

We promote veganism and vegetarianism and offer sanctuary tours and workshops throughout the year.

Our mission is simple: to provide safe haven and to show that farmed animals are emotional, intelligent beings who deserve compassion and respect.

Programs

1. Develop and distribute educational material on factory farming and vegetarianism
2. Hold farm tours at sanctuary.
3. Conduct educational seminars at sanctuary.
4. Provide advocacy information and opportunities to general public.
5. Coordinate the Food for Thought program which encourages SPCAS to adopt vegetarian policy
6. Sponsor and support California state legislation which advances the welfare of animals.
