ANERA creates opportunity and hope for people in the Middle East by improving health care and education and stimulating job creation.
Programs
In the 2007 fiscal year ANERA provided $60 million in development assistance and relief aid to local institutions and individuals in Lebanon, the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan and Israel. These programs included: (1) Community and Economic Development - Irrigation, Mechanization, Credit, and Produce Processing and Marketing Projects, and Urban Economic Projects; (2) Technical Assistance, providing training and consultants in agriculture, job creation, credit, health and education; (3) Education, in the form of scholarships for orphaned, destitute and handicapped children, and equipment, expertise and books for educational institutions; (4) Health Services, including clinics and health training; and in-kind pharmaceutical products, providing medicine and health material for hospitals and clinics.
