American Composers Forum

Mission

The American Composers Forum enriches lives by nurturing the creative spirit of composers and communities. We provide new opportunities for composers and their music to flourish, and engage communities in the creation, performance and enjoyment of music.

Programs

The American Composers Forum has established itself as a leader in the field of new music.  It has built its reputation upon the ability to initiate collaborations that nurture creativity and build community.  The Forum’s primary vision is to facilitate an ecosystem of creativity where composers and the communities they work with supply one another with the equipment and methods necessary to meet their each other’s needs.

New initiatives continue to serve artists in a variety of ways, from readings and contests to workshops on pressing issues.  Our educational endeavors are reinforcing existing music curriculums, and providing essential instruction to schools where budgetary restraints have meant the loss of formal music programs.  Composer residencies continue to bring new music into the lives of thousands of community members, who are energized by their inclusion in the creative process.
