    I (Hearth to Hearth Ministries' Director) was very excited for Hearth to Hearth Ministries (HTHM) when I received an invitation to present a paper at the African Professionals Association’s (APA) first anniversary celebration on May 15 of this year. Even though I was in the process of moving and wondered how I would find the time to participate in that way, I realized that this was an opportunity HTHM could not afford to miss.     This is part of what my son wrote about his trip to Africa. This story takes place in Kenya at the largest orphanage, Hope for Children Center, which took care of over 300 African orphans.  I was there during the dry season and food was very scarce for the orphans outside the center.  One week we had over 100 children a day coming to the gates looking for food and hoping to be accepted in the orphanage.  We weren’t able to take very many in because of lack of space and funds.  I would line them up in small groups to photograph them in hopes that if the funds came in, we would be able to take some in.  I can still picture some of these children and one particular child haunts me to this day.
