American Universities Involved in Africa Aid's Foreign Program Planning
Africa Aid works with undergraduate students at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) to plan their School Lunch Program, which provides a nutritious lunch for 215 refugee students at the Buduburam Liberian Refugee Settlement in Ghana. Africa Aid has been working with UCSD students to create a health and nutrition curriculum that accompanies each school lunch, creating a unique local education component to a foreign aid program. In addition, Africa Aid employs mothers of the refugee students in the School Lunch Program as cooks, empowering them with the dignity of work.
