Why I Admire AFFIL
I admire AFFIL because they are not afraid to stand up and fight for fairness in lending. Even our own politicians are willing to sell our future to the abusive lenders.
In the movie "Maxed-Out", we saw first hand from many perspectives the tragedy that debt presents to a family. "Maxed Out" changed our lives for the better and now we have no choice but to take action and help in any way we can.
Join and support AFFIL.

Hi, I am new here today. I have a really big problem with Credit One Bank Credit Card. It is a long long story, but there seems to be no way to stop them. I have written to the OCC, the FTC the BBB, the Attorney General in the state where their main office is and complained on Complaints Board online. You can go there and do a search for Credit One and find 71 complaints on ComplaintsBoard.com. But still nothing is done to stop them. I'm on the verge of writing to Senator Obama about it.

Thanks for sharing you story with us Victoria, and thanks for your support! Together we can raise the volume of our collective cry, and put the pressure on lawmakers to end abusive lending practices!

i had left my planner zip up book on a train with ALL of my information in it.
my ID, SScard, lots of information in my notes.. tons of stuff. my BANK CARD!
.... i was VERY VERY new to having a bank card. i was always agaisnt having a bank. though i gained a good amount of money and a whole lot of things that i needed to do with my card for a few months so i decided to jsut go for it and cancel it later.
well, i had all of this money on the card when i had forgotten my planner on the train.
whoever found it didnt care to notice the first page saying really big in black marker, if found please call.... or email......
they decided to use my card sicne they had my ID and ssn they could do anything!
well, they did, they went over the amount that was used on my card by a few dollars!!!!
which then charged an over draft fee of 35.
once i noticed that i couldnt book my flight with my card i checked in with the bank... BANK OF AMERICA....i had NO clue that my card could be used to buy thigns online.. i thought that only credit cards could do that...shows how much i know about banks cards...
they told me to file a claim for fraud.
4 weeks go by and still i recieve nothing in the mail to file my claim.
they said they sent it out twice. but i recieved nothing.
i moved and todl them my new address, 2 weeks later i get it in the mail.
i send out the form.
2 weeks later i ask whats going on they said that they didnt recieve it.
i told htem i sent it out 2 weeks ago.
they sent me a new one.
a week later i recieve it.
i fax it to them TWO TIMES.
they get it.
FINALLY!
...between all of these weeks they are lent me $40 dollars then took it back which created an OVER DRAFT FEE..WHAATTTT?!!?! ...and they didnt even bother to tell me. they did that TWO TIMES.
so now i had three over draft fees and the negative amountthat was already taken out by this other person that got ahold of my planner.
2 weeks later they send me a notice in the mail that said that my claim had been denied.
i called too figure out why and what else i cuold do.
they said that it was denied because my address was sued to purchase thethings online that were purchased.
turns out, they booked themselves a few flights and a really nice hotel room in some place in the caribbean.
and a bunch of other random stuff.
so because my name and address was used for these purchases (of course or how else would they do it) my claim was denied.
i said LOOK, I AM NOT IN THE CARIBBEAN, i am calling you from my home. i need to speak to your supervisor about this she said i am the supervisor. i said then i want to speak to the people that denied my claim. she said that, thats not possible.
OMG!
so.
now all of my money is gone and i have to pay them the negative amount that was put in there from this other person and for the over draft fees that the BANK THEMSELVES put there!
i dont know what to do.
i havent used my card i havent paid them that money and dont plan to.
so now im stuck.
