Urge Government to Pursue Safe & Effective Renewable Energy
To: The President of the United States, The U.S. Senate and The U.S. House, see more...
Started by: Bryan D. Freehling
Energy costs are at an all time high, and reports indicate that they will continue to increase. With a growing population, our addiction to and dependency on petroleum and coal based fuels also continues to escalate. However, we have the technology to free ourselves from the chains of this bondage.
Urge your elected officials to actively pursue all legislative measures to promote, harness, and utilize effective, safe and environmentally friendly methods of energy production.
Urge your state and federal representatives to aggressively write and pass legislation to help subsidize the costs to consumers, specifically to homeowners, to take advantage of such things as geothermal/solar heating and cooling systems, and wind energy. Likewise, have your representatives include enticing rebates to encourage consumers to invest in hybrid automobiles.
It really isn’t that difficult to reduce our carbon footprint, to make our nation truly energy independent, and to make our country safer and more secure. All that is necessary is a firm commitment to move in the in the right direction.

"Actually it will be very difficult imo, as long as corporate lobbyists have so much influence.
However, since the following
Passed Senate by Unanimous Consent.
Bill Action: Passed Senate: S.Res. 314: A resolution designating the week beginning October 18, 2009, as "National Character Counts Week".

via Active Legislation -- Tracked by GovTrack.us on 10/18/09
I would like to see all Senate members HONOR this unanimous consent with more than mere lip service to try to convince people that they are doing their sworn duty ... which means to pass progressive legislation for the benefit of the whole.
Character means voting for the people who are supposed to be represented and not for corporate special interests just because they have all the money and pay out bribes in order to BUY legislation that is to their advantage (and at the expense of everyone and everything else on earth).
I also would like to add that NON-HOME OWNERS, RENTERS and the HOMELESS must not be trampled upon in climate legislation ... all too few of us can afford to buy a new car!!!! for instance. " - Oct 21
