UPDATE: Urge World Governments to Condemn Executions in Tibet

It is with great sadness that we are writing to let you know Tibetan rights groups confirmed this morning that three Tibetans, Lobsang Gyaltsen, Loyak, and Penkyi were executed on October 20th, 2009 in Lhasa. rhere is a report that a fourth Tibetan may also have been executed. Read SFT's press statment.

This is the first known execution of a Tibetan since 2003, demonstrating the lengths to which the Chinese government is now prepared to go in order to intimidate Tibetans and crush all perceived opposition to its occupation of Tibet.

Please join people worldwide in voicing outrage at this travesty of justice. Send the letter below to your Members of Congress urging the U.S. government to immediately condemn these executions in the strongest possible terms.

Please, we urge you to also call your congressional representatives and let them know how serious this matter is and that you expect the Obama administration to take immediate action and condemn these killings. More ways to take action will be posted shortly on SFT's website.

Our sincere thanks go out to the more than 1,450 people on this list who sent letters to Secretary Clinton yesterday in reponse to the initial reports about the executions.

Our collective actions will make a difference to the people inside Tibet.

**If you live in the U.S. please send a letter to your Members of Congress urging an immediate response from the U.S. government.

**If you live in a country that is part of the European Union please send a letter to EU President, Mr. Fredrik Reinfeldt.

**If you live in Canada, please send a letter to Foreign Affairs Minister, Lawrence Cannon.
