Tell Macy's to Stop Mislabeling Fur

Tell Macy's to Stop Mislabeling Fur
The Issue
UPDATE 3/15/10: The Humane Society of the United States just announced that they've reached a settlement with Macy's and Bloomingdale's in the fur mislabeling lawsuit. The company has agreed to strict new garment labeling practices relating to fur and fur-trimmed outerwear for all of its retail stores, outlet stores and online marketplace. They've also agreed to adopt new advertising procedures when it comes to fur and fur trimmed garments, and to support legislation that will close the fur labeling loophole. Thanks for speaking out on behalf of the animals!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many garments labeled as faux fur are actually racoon dog fur.
The Humane Society of the United States filed a lawsuit against several major department stores and fashion designers to stop false advertising and mislabeling of fur garments. Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and designer Andrew Marc all signed settlement agreements to reform their advertising and labeling practices. Macy's has not.
While it would be ideal for these stores to stop supporting the cruel fur industry, at the very least they need truth in labeling their faux fur garments so consumers can know that they aren't supporting an inhumane industry.
Tell Macy's to join their competitors in strengthening their labeling and advertising standards.
