End Homelessness
Appliances excrete a high amount of CO2 into the environment. By making this small commitment, it can help make a major difference in the reduction of C02. Especially if everyone makes a contribution.
This is an ongoing pledge that should be fulfilled as often as possible.

I bug my fiance about this all the time. "Are you using that?" Now we both need to work on unplugging.

It is a simple way to reduce energy use in my home.

I think many people do not realize how much energy is wasted. Not only should we turn our appliances off, but when possible, we should also unplug them. This isn't always realistic, I know. But appliances like toasters, coffee pots, and even phone chargers actually use quite a bit of electricity, even turned off. I've been trying to be more conscious of this lately, and everything we can do will help. Turn if off if you're not using it. Unplug it, if you can.

Because I think we should do something to stop this crazyness...

It's so easy to do, it takes so little effort.

Easy to do and environmentalism 101 - just have to keep reminding yourself, and why not, passing the word and influencing others to do the same.

unplug things that are not in use. those cell phone chargers are a big one, and what about your microwave? unplug what you don't use very often. i have my tv, vcr, dvd, stereo on a power strip that i just unplug every night. it's the little things that count!
Danielle LeBoeuf Cape Coral, FL @ 01:37PM PST Aug 11
Yep, and unplug things too, because they eat up energy just by being tapped into the supply.
Vinod Bodhankar Pune, India @ 04:40PM PST Aug 10
Sure. I'll be even more careful than before.
